Curves is the answer yet again! I love curves...not too many if you know what I mean.
Open up your image in Photoshop. Create a new layer for curves (look for the circle that is half black and half white and select curves). Choose your adjustments tab. Then click on the curves (mine is the third from the left on the top row). Place your curser in the middle click and drag up to lighten the photo. Now go get the brush tool and set your brush to white. Go paint to reveal your photo underneath.
* If you happen to go "outside the lines" you must start all over...just kidding! Simply go change the color of your brush to black and paint over the area you didn't want to lighten up!
